Ask me anythingMy Progress30 Day Fitness ChallengeAbout MeArchive
This past month has definitely NOT been the healthiest, but in comparison to the rest of my life…I’d like to give myself a pat on the back.
Now that it’s August I have some new goals:
1. Seriously, be healthy this time. I mean go for a run every day. Every. Day. and then I NEED to install an every other day plan of strength training. I GOT THIS!!
2. Eat healthy! I’m replacing one meal a day with salad and fruit :)
3. Forego shampoo. That’s right, but let me explain. I swear I am clean. I am actually pretty anal about personal hygiene. But if you haven’t heard, shampoo contains chemicals that strip our hair of its natural oils. In the US, we believe that “clean” is when we feel that “dry” sensation, yet we only end up putting more artificial stuff just to compensate for the lack of moisture. Does this make any sense to you? Our head ends up trying to compensate for this lack of moisture by producing an excess amount of oil, which is why some people get greasy hair only after one or two days. So my plan is to wash my hair once a week with a shampoo bar (I decided against the baking soda because I feel like it might be too harsh on my head), and an apple cider vinegar. I am currently on Day #4 of no more shampoo. Yeah, my head is oily and I know it’s going to get a lot worse (i.e. I’m waiting for that dreaded week before the transition phase) but after that I’m supposed to have beautiful hair. At least, I hope. From what I’ve seen though, if you only wash once a week, the transition will be a lot faster.
I pray to God that this happens because school starts in 4 weeks.
